Monday!
Thanks to all for your kind birthday wishes and appreciations for the list! We enjoyed a great birthday weekend with lots of music and some biking to get there, of course. On Friday the Golden Ticket Soirée at FitzGerald’s featured Tim Menard and Cathie Van Wert Menard in the pickup truck, Environmental Encroachment, The Sensational Barnes Brothers, Sam Morrow, and a great closing marathon set from Pokey LaFarge. On Saturday we marshaled the Build Chicago Ride for Peace in the Austin Neighborhood, then hopped on the Metra Electric at Millenium Station bound for Floosmoor, enjoyed a nice al fresco dinner at Flossmoor Station, and rode from there to Tinley Park for the Outlaw Tour with Southern Avenue, John Mellencamp, Bob Dylan, and Willie Nelson. After riding back to the train, we arrived back at Millenium late and got home for a little rest before heading up to park a little west of Day 2 of the Evanston Folk Festival, riding in from there to enjoy Nora O’Connor & Casey McDonough, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, and Patti Griffin before riding back to head home.
Some great music event opportunities are again happening tonight (on Monday) in and around Chicago… get out to enjoy one if you can… welcome to new subscribers, and thanks to everyone for reading, subscribing to, sponsoring, and especially sharing Jerome’s Event List!
